From toy shop to international toy manufacturer

1990

The family business Holzspielerei Baumgartner was founded in 1990 and started as a little toy shop in Altoetting - Upper Bavaria

1994

Already in 1994 the business model was changed grom a retail store to a wholesale store. From now on also resellers were supplied by Holzspielerei. In addition to the wholesale trade, many festivals, markets and events were also visited in order to be able to present the product range to as many people as possible. New lines of businesses were founded. For example “knight requirements” and “wooden decoration”. Holzspielerei is one of the first companies to offer a wide range of wooden swords and accessoires.

1998

Thanks to a steadily growing customer base, the place was soon too short. Therefore, in 1998 the registered office and the business activities were transferred to Johanniskirchen in Lower Bavaria. The newly built hall offered enough space for a smooth logistics and shipping process. The economic infrastructure of the Rottal-Inn district was then, as now, a suitable location for medium-sized companies.

2006

Digitization and the Internet have already found their way into the economy and also into Holzspielerei. In order to provide our customers with the best possible service, the Internet presence in 2006 has been supplemented by a professional shop and ordering system. B2B customers were now able to place their orders online and outside office hours. The assortment is more and more popular in other EU countries

2009

This year Holzspielerei was established as a brand. For this purpose, a specially designed logo and a unified appearance in all media emerged. The webshop has also been redesigned in terms of design and function - for the first time, private customers can also view and buy the complete range of wooden games. In addition to the webshop, Holzspielerei products are also available for the first time on Amazon. The storage area was extended once more. A second hall now offers enough space for the wide range of Holzspielerei.

2012

The Holzspielerei is already a pioneer in the development of new products and product designs. In order to further promote innovation, new printing techniques were tested and introduced on wood for the first time in cooperation with several partners. From that resulted, for example, the knight shield available today with motifs in photo quality.

2014

This year Holzspielerei launches the company's own production. Now Holzspielerei Baumgartner GmbH is no longer just a trading company in the B2B and B2C sector, but also a producer of creative in-house developments - MADE IN GERMANY -. Modern machinery consisting of lasers, printers, CNC machines and other woodworking machines enable a high-quality, fast and ecological production process. We are also the first wooden toy manufacturer to offer the manufacture of exclusive products for commercial lines in small batches (OEM products). The customer spectrum has grown beyond the toy industry due to the newly created production possibilities. The appearance of the brand was also revised. A new logo, new corporate identity and a modern e-commerce system underline the company's vision to make all children ecological toys to promote their own imagination and creativity, accessible.

2017

In order to improve the quality of the steadily growing in-house production, another modern hall with integrated office complex has been added to the company premises. The company now has 2000 m² of storage space and an additional 800 m² of production space.

Our company currently has 10 employees and a few other freelancers on a storage area of over 2000 m²
